Generally
- Downstairs AB (556639-5413) offers household services for private individuals and companies, including cleaning, laundry, dry cleaning, tailoring and shoemaking. Agreements can be concluded by persons who have reached the age of 18 or with the consent of a guardian for minors.
- As a customer of Downstairs, you agree that we take pictures or footage in the event of damage or deviations, which are saved for a maximum of 3 months after the case is closed.
- Purchased services are performed according to the specifications of the website or the agreement between the customer and Downstairs.
- Upon registration, an account is created to view your services.
- Upon activation of an account, personal data is saved, handled according to the applicable GDPR and can be transferred within the business.
- Confirmation of order is sent via text message.
- Complaints and repurchases within the withdrawal period must be reported immediately to Downstairs.
- Suspected fraud is reported to the police.
- As a customer, you agree to receive offers and information. Deactivation of mailing is possible.

- The customer is responsible for checking the services performed upon reception or within 24 hours of home delivery. Complaints are reported immediately to Downstairs.
- If a complaint is approved, compensation rules apply based on the age and value of the item.
- The customer is responsible for the washing instructions on each item. If washing instructions are missing, washing is approved at your own risk.
- The customer is responsible for clear instructions for tailoring and shoemaking services.
- The customer is responsible for ensuring that the items are available at the agreed collection time. If the items cannot be found and contact cannot be established, the full price will be charged.
- Downstairs is not responsible for the quality of the items or details that may be damaged when washing, dry-cleaning, for example the lifespan of the garment is of quality, so even washing according to washing instructions can damage the garment which could not be noticed before washing.
- The pricing applies to normal assignments. Extra work or incorrect information may result in additional charges.
- Keys for locked homes or premises are handed over as agreed and stored safely.
- Cancellations are not charged if they are done earlier than 2 days before the agreed time, otherwise 100% of the price is charged, however, the hours can be used at a later date for extra services such as major cleaning, window cleaning, extra services and moving cleaning.
- Downstairs’ service guarantee means reworking in case of dissatisfaction, but no money will be refunded.
- All agreements have a mutual notice period of 1 month.
- Downstairs has liability insurance up to 20 million SEK, this is in addition to your own home insurance and the staff is fully insured in the event of accidents.
- When booking cleaning/window cleaning, the customer automatically approves Downstairs’ current rules.
- Cleaning is not available on public holidays. If another day is desired as substitute, please contact us.
- In the event of illness or vacation, the regular team is replaced with another team if possible. Otherwise, cleaning can be canceled and a new cleaning day is announced via phone, text message or email. We work 2 in each team, so if one is sick, the other colleague is probably still there
- The same rules as point 25 apply.
- Complaints about performed services must be made within 24 hours after the services have been carried out. Downstairs has the right to first deal with the shortcoming before the crediting of the service is considered.
- Damages to customer’s property must be reported within 24 hours or within a reasonable time to Downstairs customer service or via form on downstairs.se.
- Pricing applies to normal assignments. Extra work or incorrect information may result in a subsequent charge.
- Prices for tailoring and shoemaking are from prices and can be adjusted depending on the scope of the work.
- Fixed-price customers are always charged their monthly cost. Service is cancelled on public holidays unless otherwise agreed.
- Hour bank: Hours canceled at a fixed price due to holidays or illness are saved for extra services such as major cleaning and window cleaning. The hours are saved for 12 months after cancellation and don’t replace regular cleaning times.
Payment terms
When it comes to invoice payments, we cooperate with Preventia Finans. To purchase on invoice, you must provide your personal identity number or company registration number. Among the requirements for purchasing on invoice is that you are registered in Sweden, over 18 years old and have no payment notes. Downstairs transfers all invoices to Preventia Finans. The payment terms for invoices are 20 days. If the payment is late, a reminder fee will be added according to law, currently 60 SEK, as well as late payment interest according to the rules of Preventia Finans. The RUT tax deduction is made directly on the invoice. If your RUT tax deduction has already been fully used, you will be charged for it because Downstairs cannot be responsible for how private individuals use RUT and ROT services. We accept all VISA and Mastercard debit and credit cards and in some cases AMEX and Diners. The specified payment card will be charged upon booking and will be debited on the day of delivery according to the above-mentioned purchase terms.
GDPR – the new data protection regulation
From the 25th of May 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies throughout the EU. The aim of the law is to make you feel secure about how we handle your personal data. You don’t need to take any action, but if you would like to read more about our data protection policy, you can do so.
Privacy Policy
In order to offer you relevant information and feedback, we store your personal data and handle it in accordance with the GDPR. When you place an order in store, we only need your name and mobile phone number. For cleaning, window cleaning and other invoiced services, your address and personal identity number are also required. As a customer, you agree to our GDPR guidelines when placing an order.
Downstairs guidelines for personal data processing
Downstairs AB, company registration number 556639–5413, is the data controller for the processing of your personal data regarding services provided by Downstairs AB and its points of sale.
When do we collect your personal data?
- When you drop off clothes or shoes at one of our stores, we need your name and mobile phone number.
- When you order invoiced services, we need your name, address, personal identity number-/company registration number, telephone number and email address.
- As a customer of Downstairs, you agree that we take pictures or footage if something breaks or deviates from your cleaning agreement. This is saved until the case is closed, at most 3 months.
- When you buy gift cards or goods, we need your name and mobile phone number.
- What personal data do we collect?
The personal data we collect is your name and mobile phone number when ordering in store. For invoiced services, we also need your personal identity number, address and email address.
Why do we store personal data?
We store the data to be able to communicate with you, to provide you continuous information and feedback about active orders, primarily via SMS. The data will also be used to send messages in connection with orders, such as sending SMS when the order is created and ready for pickup. It can also be used for letter/invoice, email and SMS, as well as for follow-up and analysis.
Downstairs will not sell or share your personal data with unauthorized parties. If you haven’t been a customer of Downstairs for 36 months, your data will be automatically deleted. If you request us to delete your contact information, it can take up to 3 months for it to be removed from our system so that ongoing orders can be invoiced. If there are no active orders, the information will be deleted immediately.

If you would like to receive an extract of the personal data Downstairs processes about you, you can send a written request for this. You will receive an SMS so that we know that we are communicating with the right person. You can also contact us if you would like to correct incorrect personal data, refrain from mailing or be removed from our register.
